The project of the Ministry of Culture "Roads of Roman Emperors" is the route in length of about 600 kilometers, and extends from Sirmium (today Sremska Mitrovica) to Sarkamen and aims to introduce visitors not only with the history of ancient Rome, but also about their daily life. The Romans as a nation respected swimming and appreciated the healing properties of water. Throughout history Romans built bathrooms and spas for relaxation and healing purposes. On Serbian territory some of the spas were established on the sources whose healing properties have been discovered by Romans.

This trip will make sure that you are at least a little closer to understanding  the way of life and culture nurtured by people of Rome in ancient times and show a piece of heritage that this great nation has left behind.

In the morning we depart from Belgrade to Smederevo. The road runs along the Danube, the same route once ran Limes - the boundaries of the Roman Empire. Visiting town Smederevo, established in ancient times and was called Aureus Mons. The remains of the fortress visible today are dating from the period of Serbian lord Despot Djurdje Brankovic. The journey continues to the archaeological site Viminacium, the largest urban center and the capital of the Roman province of Upper Moesia. There are impressive remains of the Imperial mausoleum of the third century, where Roman emperor and his mother Hostilian Hernia were buried. The trip continues to Srebrno Lake, located at Danube estuary. Arrival to the hotel in the afternoon hours. Free time for classes, walks and use of wellness facilities. Overnight. Srebrno Lake - Felix Romuliana (175kms, about 3hrs drive - through Djerdap, through Donji Milanovac), Felix Romuliana - Gamzigrad (about 5 kms, 10 minutes drive), Gamzigrad - Niska Spa (100 kms, about 1h 45min drive)

After breakfast, the road takes us along the banks of the Danube, in addition to the Golubac fortress and Donji Milanovac. We will refer to the Felix Romuliana, the remains of the imperial palace from the third century which, since 2007, is under the protection of UNESCO. In this place Roman emperor Gaius Valerius Maximillian was born, lived and was buried. Galerius’ birth place was one the many urban villages, with many luxurious public and private buildings. He built a palace in this place and named it after his mother Romuliana. We will visit National Museum in Zajecar where you can see the mosaics, sculptures and decorations of the imperial palace Romuliana. There are healing waters that are at only 3 kms away from Felix Romuliana assumed to have been used in ancient times, although there is no written evidence of it. Today in this place, which nature has endowed with a number of sources of mineral water springs, located in the famous Gamzigrad spa, whose beneficial water in swimming pools, in addition to rehabilitation is used to prepare athletes’. The resort is beautifully decorated with lots of greenery, parks and a promenade along the river. We will take a short break for a walk, and then continue the journey towards Niska Spa. Mineral water is the main source of Niska Spa.  It is hyperthermal water with a temperature of 38ºC. Accommodation and use of wellness facilities in the spa center "Sense". Overnight. After breakfast sightseeing of Nis Fortress - on of the largest Turkish fortifications in the Balkans. Visit to the city center and central square, Archaeological Museum, the pedestrian zone, Kazandzijsko Sokace, Congregational Church, Skull Tower - rectangular tower with 950 built-in skulls of fallen Serbian soldiers who disappeared in the battle of Cegar 1809. Free time. Lunch.  In the afternoon return to Belgrade.

Emperor Constatine is one of the monarchs born in the territory of Serbia, who is remembered around the world as a Roman emperor who accepted Christianity, by Milan Edict in 303, proclaiming Christian religion equal to other religions in the territory of the Roman Empire and thus began a new historical period. Emperor Constantine was born in Naissus (today Nis) . ATTRACTIVE PLACES AND OUTING

Sokograd the medieval castle-fortress built on the foundations of a Roman fortress, in the time of Emperor Justinian (I-VI). The old Sokolac is on the cliff above the canyon Moravice. The city was destroyed and rebuilt several times throughout history. It was partially reconstructed 20 years ago. Archaeologists have found well-preserved water tanks, weapons and pottery. It is located 3 kms from the city center and 200 meters from Lepterija.
Lepterija gets its name from the ancient Greek word Eleftrios - Elefteria which means Freedom.
At the resort there is the Church of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin.  In there is a figure of the Virgin in the wall and the natural White Water  phenomenon. Today, the resort is famous for its landscapes  of exceptional quality as well as picnic area which is easily reached by road.
Wellhead Moravice - Moravice rises on the northeastern slope of the Virgin at 410 meters above sea level, 12 km from Sokobanja. There are also coal mine in Sokobanja, old church of St. Elias from the 19th century (built in 1872) as well as the trout pond with running clean drinking water. The water at the source is very cold, clear and drinkable. There is also arranged picnic area in the form of large wooden tables, benches, walled fireplace and barbecue picnic sites. Perfect for a good picnic and pleassure.

Ethno house in Kalinovica

Excursion to Kalinovica 6 kms away from Sokobanja Spa which is located on Mount Ozren at an altitude of 650 m. The excursion is characterized by densed  forests of beech and pine, in an environment which has a large number of beautiful clean sources of cold drinking water. This city is characterized by the concentration of negative ions which are helping elimination harmful substances from the body. Specific mix of air currents and wind rose has positive effect on the respiratory tract, and healthy controls. In the heart of the excursion is the ethno house with an open terrace for guests, owned by Milenkovic family available to all travelers. Ethno House offers:

Excursion Sesalacka cave is near the village Sesalac and as part of the tourism has an increasing number of visitors, especially those who appreciate true natural treasures. It is located 20 km from Sokobanja. The cave is about 150-200 m long, the walk-corridors are well-lit. In the cave, one can see various decorations of limestone in various shapes.

The excursion Vrmdzansko lake is located 2 km from the village Vrmdza, or at 13 kms from Sokobanja in the foot of Mount Rtanj. The area is very rich in natural beauty, the green pastures through beautiful meadows to naturally sculpted rocks. The air is very clean and there is wealth of herbs and wild berries, mushrooms and sources of cold drinking water.

Being located in a very healthy environment, food that is produced there is simply excellent. You should visit the ethno restaurant - Watermill. Here you can eat real domestic Rtanj cheese, honey and wildberry jam. Try the homemade pie and twisted bread with cream cheese. In the village there is the Church of the Holy Trinity built in 1818, as well as courts for basketball and football.

- In Reporting and the conclusion of the travel contract, an advance payment of 40% is obligatory. No later than 15 days before the departure  the remaining 60% is to be  paid  being in total full amount of the price of travel

INSURENCE

Producer authorized dealer is obliged to offer the traveler health travel insurance and to inform him of the existence of insurance against cancellation of the arrangement according to the terms and tariffs. This insurance traveler, or the insured is covered for any contingency and emergency response, as well as the cost of medical evacuation and repatriation. In the event of an insured event, in the course of the journey, it is enough to present a passport and the aforementioned policy to cover all costs within the given terms of health travel insurance. Ribarska Spa is located on the slopes of Mt. Jastrebac, and is known as an oasis of clean air, healthy food and medicinal thermal springs. Archaeological sources show that the healing springs of this spa known since prehistoric times, used in ancient Roman times and during the Turkish rule, but as the beginning of scientifically based work takes the nineteenth century when PrinceMilos ordered to scientifically examine the healing waters of the spa.
